GT6 Porsche Easter Egg

So while some of us were cruising in GT6 someone mentioned a Porsche banner on the 2013 Le Mans track. We went over and checked it out and there it was: a huge Porsche sign above the track. Could this be an easter egg?

That's just part of the track license. In real life, there is a Porsche banner in La Sarthe. That DOESN'T mean Porsche will be in the game. DAMN YOU, EA!

And now that the RUF cars have been somewhat upgraded t somewhere between "Standard" and "Premium", you can have a real close look at the reflector between the Yellowbird's taillights. It says Porsche.

But yeah, jus1029's right. Neither the Le Mans sign nor the Yellowbird's reflector are very significant. A glimmer of hope, and nice to see, but not evidence of any licenced cars in the future.

I don't know for sure why Tyrepower, Dick Smith, Biante Model Cars, Vodafone, or L&H are missing, or what "mother" even is. I can only presume that they either chose not to have their name in the game, or there was some other legal technicality.

I do know that XXXX Gold is omitted because it's beer, and an alcohol or tobacco reference in a game will prevent it from getting an ESRB "E" or PEGI "3" rating. Monza's Martini signs are missing for the same reason, not to mention the various car liveries that have missing or disguised alcohol & tobacco logos.

I recall reading the same claim somewhere else, likely on gtplanet. So, I decided to keep my Google-fu sharp and fresh. The "WEST" logo isn't for West cigarettes. West cigarette's logo isn't all-caps, either.

For whatever reason, all of the photos of the real 88C-V and scale models all have an NCAA logo in the same spot.

But, I found this huge, clear photo of a 90C-V. It's "Suntory West Coffee":

And if you're curious about the NCAA one, it's Suntory NCAA Sports Drink .
